Four tips for choosing a projector
Projectors are a basic element for many companies that have
to make presentations. And the truth is that being a basic element to make a
good presentation is often not given the necessary importance. That's why we
want to offer four tips to choose a project in the company . As always, the
right choice will depend on the needs of each company.
Fundamentally, it will depend on the use that we are going
to give it . If it is a projector that we will transfer with us when we
present, or we have a room to project in our company and we will leave it
there. In this case we must consider if we have the appropriate infrastructure,
that is, the appropriate plugs for the projector, but also a table or a ceiling
support, the distance to which we are going to project, etc.
Luminosity and
resolution of the projector
They are two aspects that have a lot to do with the room in
which we are going to project . In this case, if we have a room where we can
have good dark conditions we will not need the projector to have a great light
power and we can choose lower ranges that have lower LUMENS ratios, from 2500
to 3000.
If we are going to project in different rooms, where we do
not have darkness or we are going to move from one place to another, we will be
interested in this factor being as high as we can afford. The more LUMENS is
better projected with external light .
The same can be said of the screen resolution we can achieve
. Here depends more on what we are thinking about projecting, since it is not
the same as a bar that aims to offer football matches on large screens that a
company that will make presentations, some video, but nothing that requires a
resolution or in HD . We must also take into account the projection distance,
and the diagonal we intend to achieve for the result to be good.
Consumption and spare
parts
This question is fundamental if we have to choose between
conventional lamps and LEDs. In recent times the LED technology has been
incorporated into the lamps of the projectors . The advantages it has are a much
lower power consumption and a duration that will take us to not have to change
the projector lamp during its useful life, since the number of hours it gives
us is very high.
In turn, the LED spotlights have a lower noise level , since
they need less cooling than a conventional lamp. However, their handicap
compared to traditional lamps is that they do not reach such good levels of
luminosity and if we are going to project in rooms with natural light they may
stay a bit short. In addition, for the same brightness its price is usually
somewhat higher, of course it is compensated if we have to change a lamp
throughout the life of the projector.
Projector connections
Here we follow the rule of how much more better, but we must
also take into account from where we are going to project. If our goal is to
have it on a table next to the laptop, we do not need big specifications. With
HDMI connections are already frequent in this type of projectors, so a cable
will be enough for video and sound. But we can always resort to VGA and RCA
connections.
If we are going to place a projector on the ceiling of the
room we should look for network or wireless connections that allow us to emit
the images from our equipment without having to connect them by means of a
cable to it. Many projectors have this feature, so a network point, which is
usually close to electrical connections is enough to provide infrastructure to
it.
Finally, a very extended option is the USB connection to
project the images we have in our memory or external hard drive without the
need to carry a laptop. This feature is very comfortable if we have to take the
projector from one place to another, since in this way it is not necessary to
move the laptop too. In this way, it will be enough for us to have a socket to
be able to make the presentation, reducing much the logistics necessary to
project.
Presentation modes
It is not just about making a presentation but about doing
it well . A projector that adjusts automatically to the images we issue, that
has an autofocus, fits the screen and is not distorted is one of the main
issues. Of course it has a remote control that allows us to move around the
room.
Many projectors incorporate their own presentation software,
so that it helps us to make presentations quickly. It will not help to reduce
the preparation time we need when making the presentation or projection, so
when we have to do it outside of our companies it can be very helpful.
There are more features that we can take into account. These
are just some of them that try to help you choose. Then it will depend on the
conditions of each one . If the projector will be fixed in the room or we have
to move through different rooms of our company, if we have to go out to
external customers with him, or what we want to project are issues that we must
have clear so as not to make mistakes in the election.
